About the Project…

One Last Thing is a humorous journey through the lengths we go to keep relationships alive (or dead). We aim to create a new kind of “breakup” movie, one that is equally full of the laughs and heartbreak that come with moving on and what we learn about ourselves along the way. Our commitment to the audience experience extends beyond the frame, with a set that represents our values of equality and sustainability.

We aim to place women and gender minorities in all above-the-line positions on this project, and 10% of donations through Seed&Spark go to onetreeplanted.org

This project is Executive Produced by mood9, a student-led start-up production company.

“After ghosting her boyfriend, Callie must confront the uncomfortable the night before she leaves for a study abroad semester—at her best friend's birthday party.”

The Story

One Last Thing is a heartwrenching, laugh-out-loud comedic coming-of-age story that follows Callie, a girl who thinks first and asks questions later. The unintended consequences of ghosting her ex-boyfriend catch up to her when she finds out he’s playing with his band at her best friend’s birthday party, the night before she leaves for an entire year to study abroad. Not wanting to miss her last chance to say goodbye in person to her friend, Callie decides the only thing to do is go undercover. Audiences will balance between the comedy of the impossible situations Callie puts herself in, as well as the raw truths about herself that Callie must confront.
